I ended up being the only one on the tour which was really nice because I got to ask a lot of questions to Nassor. He was very patient and told me a lot about the history of not only stone town but zanzibar and tanzania as well! Nassor is a chill guy and very friendly! I had a great time and really learned a lot.
Nassur was great - very knowledgeable and informative; he answered all our questions (and we had a lot!). He was there on time, helpful, accepted requests along the way, communicating where and where we were going next; great English. Great guy all around, highly recommend!
My partner and I did a Stone Town tour with Nassor and we were very impressed with his knowledge. We booked a tour with him the night before and he provided clear communication about where to meet and the time prior to the walk. He took us to historic buildings and through the markets, and answered all of our questions while also offering to take us to see certain parts more in depth when we showed interest. He was incredibly friendly and polite, and we loved the tour! If you’re looking for a guide we would highly recommend Nassor - I can’t imagine a better guide than him!
I enjoyed my tour very much - it gave me a good foundation to explore the place on my own in the next few days. Nassor shared all the important details - the dark slave history and its connection to the spice trade, the presence of different world religions and Islamic sects in the historic city, and the gentrification that the old town is facing due to rise in tourism. Excited to learn more.
