Tefa did my walking tour and she was super knowledgeable about the history of Quito, the architecture and the Ecuadorian culture. The tour was so much fun and her personality really added to it. She kept the group together, which is important and answered all of our questions. One of the highlights was our stop at Yumbo, an award-winning Ecuadorian chocolate maker where we did a chocolate tasting. This tour is a definite must if you visit Quito!
I recently had the pleasure of taking a tour of Quito's historic center with Oscar, and I cannot recommend his tour enough. As a local guide, Oscar's knowledge and passion for Quito's history and culture is truly remarkable. His friendly and engaging personality made the tour both informative and fun. We visited numerous landmarks, including Plaza de la Independencia, La Catedral, and La Compañía de Jesús, and Oscar's insightful commentary brought each of these sites to life. He even took us to some hidden gems that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Oscar's tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in Quito's historic center.
We were told to meet at 2:20pm and got a text at 2:00pm cancelling the tour. We were told that our guide didn't have service to contact us and was out of the city. We were told there were not guides available. If there were no guides available, why were we booked into a tour? We booked this tour early this morning, and since there was no tour at 2:30, we missed the opportunity to get another tour or make alternate plans. Please book someone into a tour only if you know there will be a guide available, not 20 mins before it starts.
We were delighted to have Oscar as our guide. Everything was very professional, starting with the WhatsApp picture showing us exactly where to meet. We then had a great mix of fun things to do, information on the sights we were walking past and - unusually in my experience - the opportunity to go inside some of the places if we wanted to do, without having to curtail other parts of the tour. All in all, an excellent experience, and I would thoroughly recommend Oscar for your tour.
Oscar makes the tour really entertaining with local facts and he likes the interaction with people, and adapts the route and context based on each group. Amazing!!
