You already know how to block an event and cancel through the system. Now we are going to explain other features of GuruWalk that will make you save loads of time and allow you to shine as a true professional!

1. Modify a booking’s date/time 

Let’s imagine

  • A traveler asks me to postpone / advance his/her booking;
  • I only have one booking in the morning and I would like to add it to the little group I have in the afternoon.
  • I can’t do the tour in the morning due to an unforeseen event.

For all these cases, you’d have to cancel the booking. However, it’s not the best solution. Cancelation indeed causes a bad experience, is very unprofessional and will penalize your ranking on your city page. 

The solution? It’s now possible to modify the date and time of any booking! You can postpone / advance the booking at the time you wish, to add it to other bookings or at any other time.

In this video, we show you how it works:

You simply have to go to your ‘Bookings’. Look for the booking you want to modify. Click on ‘See details’ and then click on ‘Change schedule’.

There you can change the date and time. GuruWalk will send an automatic message to inform the traveler about your tour’s schedule change. You will also see a box where we strongly recommend that you explain to the traveler the reasons for this change. It will be sent from your account on the platform and help you be more professional. 

2. Send an automatic welcome message

Sending a message to travelers when making a booking is a very important step.

Why?

With this kind of tour, nothing is paid in advance and there are no penalties. Therefore there is a higher risk that the traveler simply does not show up at the meeting point.

When we investigated this issue, we noticed that professional gurus who sent a welcome message with the meeting point’s address, important travel information, etc … reduced the number of travelers who don’t show up by 50%, compared to the gurus that do not send this message. That’s why we made this post with templates to explain how to contact travelers like a professional.

However, gurus were still wasting a lot of time copying and pasting this welcome message every time they had a new booking.

That is why we have created a feature on GuruWalk where you write it once and it is automatically sent from your account to travelers. It will not be sent right after the booking is made, but 20 minutes later to look like a personal message and not a template 😉

To create your own automatic welcome message, just go to your tour page (as your message will be different for each tour). Then, click on ‘Edit welcome message’.

There will appear a small window where you can write your automatic welcome message. Make sure you have it ready before saving it, because if you save it half done, it will be sent like this to the traveler! If you have the tour in several languages, don’t forget to do it in these languages ​​too.
