Come along on the most iconic hike in all of Los Angeles! Since 1923 the Hollywood Sign has been a symbol of the city. But even though it's one of the most recognizable spots in the world, getting to the sign means navigating a complex web of hiking trails.
Follow our Guide on a two-hour hike from historic Griffith Observatory to the bottom of the sign. There will be lots of opportunities for photos along the way as you will see some of the most stunning vistas in all of Southern California. You'll get amazing views of Downtown LA, mansions of the Hollywood Hills, and, of course, the majestic Hollywood Sign.
Along the way, we'll make stops to hear stories of:
- how the Sign came to be and some of its controversies,
- Griffith Observatory and its eccentric founder,
- stories of early LA history and the importance of Griffith Park to the city.
Make no mistake. This tour is not your average walk in the park! We will be on hiking trails the entire way. This tour is NOT like an easy walk through Central Park. Even though it's close to the city, it's more like a moderate hike in the wilderness. Tour goers should expect inclines and dirt paths with uneven ground. You should bring water, sunscreen, and good walking shoes.
Unfortunately, due to the terrain, it's not recommended for those with mobility issues.
