¡Hola, soy Aileen, una guía turística que trabaja en el corazón de esta famosa ciudad desde hace más de 6 años! Soy británico de nacimiento, he vivido 8 años en los EE. UU. y ahora estoy casado con un local de Munich. Soy nuevo en Guruwalk, pero he trabajado para las principales compañías de turismo en Múnich y estoy deseando mostrarte el lugar.
We start off in Marienplatz and take in the town halls and the Glockenspiel (depending on the time of the tour, we may or may not watch the Glockenspiel together). After explaining the origins of Munich, we head to the beautiful Viktualienmarkt. A chance to see what fuels the cities inhabitants and time to talk about the unique food, beer and Biergarten culture.
Walking past the grand buildings of the 19th century, we see what inspired the kings of Bavaria, and naturally we touch on the darker history of Munich during the Third Reich.
I also want to give you some perspective on modern Munich, and plenty of recommendations for things to see and do after the tour!
Look for me at the fish fountain on Marienplatz. If you are looking at the large historical building that dominates Marienplatz, the fountain is to right hand-side close to the Ludwig beck department store. I will be holding a multicoloured umbrella. Please arrive 5 minutes before the tour start time. Late comers may find locating the tour difficult, and miss out.
