This is a fantastic tour! You will truly appreciate Fado by the end. You will learn about the neighborhood and how it is tied to the history and development of Fado - and who the major singers were and are along with their influence on the country’s social life and political history. The guide breathes life into the fado characters, dramatically relating stories and even singing some songs. It was fabulous and would absolutely take it again. Highly recommend!
Outstanding tour from start to finish! Enjoyed ever moment! Great selection of sites to stop at. Tour guide VERY knowledgeable about area giving history and personal insights in interesting and often humorous way. Paced the tour well with bathroom and snack stop that generated conversation among the participants - nice to meet people from all over the world. Highly recommend taking this tour and any others with this guide
Didn’t take the tour. Was at the appointed place ( between band of Spain and city hall on the plaza San Francisco this am at 10 am. In fact we arrive early at 9:45. No one in blue shirt with blue umbrella. Walked all around square and city hall looking- waited until 10:10 and gave up. Disappointing.
Really interesting! The guides made history come alive for us- in a very enjoyable way! They went at a good pace for us. Without them I don’t think we would appreciate the historical significance of this truly impressive monument of Spanish history
My husband and I highly recommend this tour. We are return visitors to Madrid and while we recognized some of the stops on this tour we were definitely introduced to new one´s. Alberto was an excellent tour guide. He is very fluent in English (having lived in the USA for 5 years) and super knowledgeable about Madrid both past and present. We covered a lot of ground and quite a few centuries of history in 3 hours. Truthfully the time flew by. Alberto filled the time with interesting tidbits about Spain (and Madrid´s) social life and customs. The stories he told about events in Madrid´s history were interesting and often related to the architecture of buildings on the tour. We looked up and we looked down and each time discovered something we hadn´t seen before. Thanks to him we saw Madrid in a whole new way. Take his tour and you will not be disappointed. I know that we weren´t.
