It was a great walk with Pedro, I would definitely recommend a walking tour with him next time you are in Rome. He had a great passion for architecture, which made a huge difference.
He mentioned his goal was not just talk about dates and history, but point out and talk about all little things in each attraction. That very night I was walking with a friend along one of these attractions, I was amazed by how much I knew about that location due to the tour.

Names and dates generally fade out from our memory, but the stories and connections between monuments and the city remain. That is what I consider to be the most important of all. Knowing the Historical and Cultural contexts of things allows us to perceive the city and other buildings based on a broader perspective, and that's why in the end we learn so much whithout noticing it!
