Will was fantastic!.... So fully of knowledge and insight, with a great sense of quirky humor which we enjoyed. A real trip through history, offering us a perspective we had not had before regarding Socialism and Communism in Berlin.

This was a fabulous walk and Will was a superb guide. I’ve taken many walking tours in Berlin over the years and this was one of, if not the best. In Berlin, history - especially but not limited 20th century history (which is the story of the 20th century) -is everywhere. It's complicated , contradictory, horrifying and incredibly tragic. The two forces of socialism and fascism scarred the city immeasurably, and you see and feel them as you walk. This is a walk of the socialist history, but communism didn’t simply appear out of the ashes of the Nazi devastation. Socialism had already played a huge role in the history of the city during the first part of the century before the Nazis eventually rested control. On this walk you’ll learn why and how. And debate what really happened with the Reichstag fire. And explore the war and its after effects. The walk plunges into the sickness of East Berlin (where the entirety of the walk takes place), East Germany, the Stasi, the Soviet Union,and beyond. Prepare to learn things you never knew! Will is an historian, a story teller and a super guide. He has a lot of patience and was completely flexible in making changes to the walk to meet the group’s preferences. He stayed well past the end of the walk to answer questions and continue the debates it raised. Super job Will. 6 stars out of 5.

Excellent tour, with good managing of time and pieces of information. The guide also provided good suggestions concerning museums, as well as links to current movies, series. Definitively recommended

Will (and Jules!) were brilliant guides. We learned so much - about the city, about the history of Marx and Berlin’s complicated political history, as well as handy tips about navigating the city as first time visitors. Truly exceptional; it was our first Walkative tour but because of the experience with Will, it won’t be our last.
