If you're a history lover in Florence, don't miss out on this day trip to Pienza, Monteriggioni and Montalcino. We'll see charming corners of medieval Tuscany as well as visit the Templar Museum.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Santa Maria Novella station and depart for medieval Tuscany. Our first stop will be at Monteriggioni, a fortified village with walls from 1200 AD. You can walk along the walls and visit the Templar Museum to learn about the knights.
After free time in Monteriggioni, we'll head to the Val d'Orcia, a World Heritage Site. Here, we'll visit Montalcino, famous for its wines. You'll have 2.5 hours of free time to explore its streets and shops before our final stop.
Next is Pienza, where you will have 1.5 hours of free time. This town is known for its historic centre and delicious cheeses.
After 11 hours, we’ll return to the meeting point in Florence.
