About the tour

A relaxed afternoon of chatting, learning about local finger foods and tasting delicious authentic tacos. A (very) filling taco lunch with a local friend.

You´ll learn the history of tacos and how tacos are prepared and eaten around Mexico. We will visit up to 5 different taco spots in the central and south neighborhoods. You'll be able to taste 5 to 10 different tacos and many salsas and toppings. It's the most popular breakfast or lunch tacos in the city, the ones we locals often eat. You may try refried beans, cheese, beef machaca, beef and pork birria, chicharron, carnitas, marlin and baja style fish tacos, and shrimp and octopus quesadillas. Plus, drinks and dessert. And lot's of fun. We'll visit street stands and small taco eateries, all of them family businesses. We will also visit a corn tortilla factory!

At every stop, you will learn the menus and prices. We will guide you through the selection process and recommend the most authentic and representative items. And then you take care of your check. The total expense per person for this very filling breakfast or lunch, including drinks and dessert, is the equivalent to between $10 and $15 USD at the very most. Bring your pesos and your apetite!

After our walking and eating session, you will feel more connected to the fabulous local taco scene and you will be more than ready to continue exploring on your own with more knowledge and confidence. I will also show you additional spots that you can visit later on and give you lots of extra info on how to make your vacation more enjoyable.

Enjoy Vallarta by the hand of a proud local.

This tour was AMAZING! Incredibly informative and delicious! We learned so much about local culture and the history of the food and the city and even some extra recommendations for other times. Eduardo (Lalo) was a delight and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend this!

My friend and I have been to Puerto Vallarta many, many times and love the area. Eduardo was able to show us several new places to eat. But not only where to get a meal, he shared his experiences and some of the local history that not everyone has the opportunity to learn about.

I would defiantly recommend this tour to anyone looking for something different to try out.
