Tour description

Sofia’s free communist tour, featuring a Trabant is now available every Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 am. The meeting point is in front of the piece of the Berlin Wall next to the National Palace of Culture and across the street from Starbucks on (Fridtjof Nansen Str.) The tour is approximately 2 hours long and features an iconic classic car called a Trabant.(Due to emission regulations the Trabant car will be available between March and November.)  The object of the tour is to take you back in time and make you feel what life was like for people living in Bulgaria during the communist era. Our focus is not to put you to sleep with statistics but rather show you what kind of challenges people had to deal with both during and after the communist era. This is a tour for everyone that is curious about this period in history. This is why we have not put a price on it. We believe that everyone traveling to Bulgaria should have an opportunity to take something away with them. Useful information: The tour will require the use of the metro for one stop, if you need assistance with purchasing a ticket your guide will provide it. Also please dress appropriately for the weather. No Reservations required. Groups of 10 or more please let us know by email.

I've been to this guru's food walking tour and this one is good as previous one. I can recommend it.

Ivo was a great and easygoing guide. His passion for history was palpable, and we were able to find out more not only about Communism but also about interesting facts of Bulgarian history. Also, his great sense of humour tells a lot about his origins :D
