Hi, glad to meet you, my name is Alfredo R. . I am from Lima city, I live there and I work as a Licensed Tour Guide by the peruvian Ministry of Tourism (initials in spanish MINCETUR) for over 16 years. I am a Transfer Person, Tour Conductor and Tour Leader as well. Finishing my studies in a local institute, I worked as Tour Guide in Lima city when I received some offers for working as Guide, Transfer Person and Tour Conductor out from my city: Puno, Cusco cities and Bolivia (Southern highlands) and after Chiclayo, Trujillo, Chachapoyas, Cajamarca and Piura cities (Northern coast and highlands). Thanks to my experience, sometimes I am a Tour Advisor making tour programs and I can guide in different places talking about many themes. Hope to meet you in Lima!

About the Tour

Our visit starts with San Martin Square, one of the most important in the whole city, where you will see a monument. We can visit the Bolívar Hotel, an old deluxe hotel.

Then, we walk down Union Street (Jirón de la Unión in Spanish), the famous commercial street of Lima, we will come to the Main Square, the place where Francisco Pizarro founded Lima, the capital of Peru. The Cathedral, Presidential Palace, City Hall and other buildings you will see there.

Then we will visit Santo Domingo Church, Post Office, Stone Bridge, Aliaga Mansion and the old Train Station. After, we go to San Francisco, the most visited church in the city.

Our tour continues taking a look to the Congress, the Inquisition, the first Lima Fire Company, the Chinatown and finally the best colonial balcony in Perú.

Finally, we take a look around the old financial area of the country to end our Tour.

I was very lucky to have Alfredo as my guide in Lima, Peru. He is a great guy with a lot of experience, an abundance of knowledge and well spoken in fluent English. Overall a fantastic experience!

Alfredo was just an amazing tour guide!!! I hadn’t planned anything when we landed in Lima so I messaged him on WhatsApp and he was so quick to respond! We didn’t have a local phone SIM card yet so we were able to discuss a place to meet in downtown Lima. We ended up getting a private tour of Lima historic center!! From the moment we met him, Alfredo was so warm and friendly and took his time to clearly explain the history of Lima, Peru, Spanish colonialism and so many alleys, buildings, and monuments in very clear English. My favorite was all the different type of balconies!! He has a wealth of knowledge and he takes his time to explain and also answer all your questions. We had so many for him and he was so very patient with us!! Not only this, he also pretty much took all of our photos and even guided us to get the best ones! I loved the Chinatown tour he included as well! Fascinating history! But the one thing that stood out to my husband and I the most was how safety during covid was taken into consideration. Alfredo constantly offered sanitizer and made sure we kept ourselves safe after touching any surfaces — we were beyond impressed! He even helped us get a phone SIM card at the end of the tour. He literally made our stay in Lima so very memorable!! I recommend Alfredo and his amazing knowledge to anyone who wants to really learn the history and current affairs about Lima! It’s easily one of the best walking tours I’ve ever had and we fondly remember Alfredo for making our tour so memorable!!! He deserves more than 5 stars!!!!
