On this walk we will explore the district of Westminster , a neighborhood in central London north of the Thames. We will see such famous monuments as Buckingham Palace , official residence of King Charles III, and Wellington Barracks. We will also be surprised by the grandeur of Westminster Abbey , a favorite place for royalty to celebrate their ceremonies, and the Houses of Parliament , better known as the Palace of Westminster and recognized worldwide for its iconic Big Ben tower. In addition to dusting off the history books, the rich smell of Fortnum & Mason tea will invade our senses and we will have fun with the squirrels and pelicans of St. James's Park . We will also see the Anglican church built by Christopher Wren, the man who rebuilt London after the great fire of 1666; We will walk along the red street The Mall and approach Downing Street , where the Prime Minister lives. Our Essential London Free Tour ends in Trafalgar Square , one of the most important squares in all of London.
