La Boca, a collective creation: Port, immigrants, arts and football

Duration: 2h
Languages: English, Spanish
Registered on January 13, 2019

A self-managed and independent project of alternative tours in Buenos Aires. We focus on showing places from a social and local perspective, avoiding repeating what appears on Wikipedia. Are you more interested in knowing the way of life and the peculiarities of a place than the dates about presidents, governors or and mayors that you can easily find on the web? We invite you to join our tours, where we expect curious travelers to share our passion for travel.

Tour description

Bored of traditional tours that only repeat what appears on Wikipedia? We too. We invite you to know the most famous quarter in the city through a b-side tour focused on its social history. We start in Caminito and then walk through the non-tourist streets of the neighborhood. We are going to talk about the immigrant origins of La Boca, the peculiarities of the neighborhood artistic style, the importance of football and the problems of the past and the present. We will also visit one of its famous bakeries (where you can try some local pastries) and we will finish the tour next to the Bombonera (one of the most famous stadiums in the world!)

Nico was very helpful since the moment of booking the tour. The English group was fully booked but he kindly accepted us. Once we got there, he was friendly, he gave detailed information about the area, talking about history, architecture, art, food, the social aspects of the community...The trip to the bakery was also a plus! I strongly recommend the tour!

So happy to have joined this tour. Nico painted the context for the neighborhood which gives us deeper appreciation for the people, the colors and the culture. Highly recommend.
