We have two different tours. At 10.30am, every day, all year round - The beauties of Florence – Free Walking tour (in English and Spanish. In Italian on request with a minimum of 10 people) We will show you the beauties of Florence on a route that starting from Piazza Santa Maria Novella, where the tour through the historic center begins, will take us to Piazza Santa Croce where the tour ends. During the tour we will be able to admire all the main monuments of Florence such as Piazza Duomo with the beautiful Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower, the sumptuous Baptistery and the beautiful Brunelleschi's Dome, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Museum and the Ponte Vecchio. At 6pm every day, all year round - Free tour of Florence at sunset (in English, Spanish and Italian) We will visit the Oltrarno (the other part of the city on the other side of the Arno river), one of the most famous and fascinating areas of Florence.
Our afternoon tour visits the most characteristic part of Florence called Oltrarno .
To reach the Oltrarno from the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella ,
(starting point of the tour), we will cross the elegant Via Tornabuoni.
Among the fashion and luxury stores of the most important Italian and world stylists, you can admire some examples of buildings from the 19th century, when Florence was the capital of Italy for a few years.
We will stop at Palazzo Strozzi , one of the most beautiful Italian Renaissance palaces , built by the Strozzi family, one of the richest families in Florence, traditionally hostile to the Medici family.
Then we will find Piazza Santa Trinita , with its church full of history and we will cross the Ponte Santa Trinita , a Renaissance bridge with a wonderful view of the Ponte Vecchio.
Then we will reach the other part of Florence called Oltrarno ,
one of the most charming areas of the city. Here there are monuments, gardens, museums and monumental buildings that are unique in the world, as well as historical workshops of artisans, goldsmiths and restorers. It is here that the most authentic Florentines still live.
We will get lost in the most characteristic alleys, we will pass through Piazza della Passera and we will arrive at the fashionable district of Santo Spirito , with its bars, elegant restaurants and informal trattorias.
On the way back, we will arrive at Piazza Pitti , where you can see the monumental Palazzo Pitti , a fortified building on a small hill that was the last residence of the Medici family and today houses five museums , including the Palatine Gallery.
The tour ends near the Ponte Vecchio . At this point you can decide whether to cross the bridge and head towards Piazza della Signoria or return to the lively nightlife of the Oltrarno.
