About the tour

This walk (the same as the Initiation tour at 10.30 but made backwards) will lead you to the heart of the Renaissance in Florence: from the buildings and works of art visited to its atmosphere and life in 14th and 15th centuries. It is the best way to start your visit to the city, or to get to know the most important sites in the historic center so that you can spot those deserving a thorough visit in the near future. Ideal for getting your bearings and having fun!

Places visited during the walk:

1. Santa Maria Novella square and church.

2. Medici's Chapel, San Lorenzo church and Medici-Riccardi Palace.

3. St. John's Baptistery, Dome, Giotto's Bell tower.

4. Dante's House-Museum, Dante's church.

5. Old Florentine Benedictine Abbey, Bargello Museum.

6. San Firenze square, Santa Croce square and church.

7. Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria.

8. Loggia dei Lanzi, Mercato del Porcellino.

9. Alleyways and hidden squares of medieval Florence.

10. Ponte Vecchio, Vasarian Corridor, Pitti Palace.

For logistical reasons, the tour must be booked at least 12 hours before the starting time. Consider that once reached the maximum number of participants the tour will be closed., so you better book now. Thank you.

You can have a thorough, panoramic view of Florence, its churches, towers and bridges, by joining me in the tour Florence from above:

Under specific request -day and time to define- you can get to know the not-so-tourist Florence in the walk The B side of Florence:

If you need a specific day or time, do not hesitate to contact me: we could work out a solution. Have already some plan in mind? Get in touch with me and I could give you some useful information. Here or through

What's the price?

A guruwalk is a pay-what-you want walking tour, which means, it's completely free to book and join the group, but the 'guru' expects to be rewarded once the tour ends. Some people give 5, some people give 50, you choose the price.

Reservations in advance are mandatory because if the 'guru' doesn't see any bookings one day, she will not show up at the meeting point. Or if she has too many 'walkers' that day, won't allow you to join without the reservation. Booking is completely free, fast and easy. Book your guruwalk now!

Gracias

This a great tour to get your bearings in Florence. A lot of sights and history packed into two hours. We had a small group so we never really had to wait for people.
