Hi everyone, my name is Manuel, I'm 30 years old and I was born in the eastern province of Cuba , Guantanamo. In general I'm a happy guy with a lot of experience as a rour guide. My favorite places here are Cienfuegos , Trinidad , Havana and viñales. I graduated as an English teacher there years ago, after that I spent one year teaching English in high-school. I then decided to not work for the goverment because of the low salaries they pay here so I then started studying the local history and adquitecture with the dream to become a guide . Now, after two years working on my own I'm really thankful to this new job because it gave me the opopportunity to meet people from different parts of the world and show them my roots.

Tour description

The tour I'm offering is an unique opportunity to discover places of your interest and at the same time you will also get the chance to interact with the history, traditions and culture of our beautiful 'City by the Sea' and its inhabitants. I can show you some tour options which can be tailored to your own preferences with the goal of spending an awesome and unforgettable time here in this beautiful city. 1-Walking city tour. Starting from the meeting point, we will walk straight to the main street (Prado or 37 Street). This street has great importance as it is the longest Prado in Cuba and also, one of the best places to observe the French style. After the main street. we walk to the Malecon (sea wall). I'm pretty sure there is no better place to take in the breeze that comes from the sea or to enjoy the beauty of a magical sunset. Once we keep walking we will explore the residential area (Punta Gorda), where we will see some of the most beautiful and representative buildings from the local heritage. Finally we will come back from the Peninsula of la Punta into the historical centre where I'll explain all the buildings that surround the emblematic Jose Marti's square 2-Visiting the cigar factory. In this option, it is important to know that the entrance tickets to the factory will need to be bought in advance.. 3-Visiting a coffee plantation at the farmer's house. With this option you'll get the chance to learn about the different kinds of coffee we harvest in our country and also how locals process it. Here you will see how locals toast and grind their coffee by hand until they make that amazing dark dust that everyone loves in Cuba. All this will give you a lot of interaction with the people from the countryside of Cuba. 4-Let's go to dance Salsa. If you are really looking forward to learning how to dance Salsa, Casino, Rumba or any of the other Cuban dancing styles, then option four is the best for you. Through me you can meet a dancing teacher which is very knowledgeable and will prepared to teach you how to dance any of the Cuban dance styles. 5- Cooking Lessons This option was designed for all those who want to see more of how the Cuban people live and eat. Learn how to cook Caldoza, Tamales de maiz, Arroz con gris or any other delicious Cuban dish. If you take this option you'll have the privilege to visit my own house and my mother will be your cooking teacher. At the end you will be welcome to join my family and I in a very traditional Cuban dinner. 6 - Dominoes lessons at the beach Domino, as we all call it here, is one of the favourite games for all Cubans. Every time we are having a party or celebrating an important date in our lives we play dominoes, drink Ron and listen to very loud music. Isn't it fun?! I'm very exited about inviting you to join me at the beach where I can teach you how to play dominoes and we can drink some Ron and listen to some music joined by some of the Cuban humour. 7 - Horse back riding tour Interact with nature and get to know more about the countryside and farmers life. During the horse back riding tour we will pass through different plantations of bananas, sugar cane, coffee, mango among others. You will get the chance to enjoy the beauty of the Cuban landscape that goes from a small valley to the mountains passing near by a small lake. You will see the national tree of Cuba, and if you are lucky you will also see the Tocororo (our national bird). It's important to inform you that the tour will last approximately 2:30 hours in any of the previous options. It's also very important to let you know that if we need to take transportation you will need to pay for it. And there are some places sthat are government-owned and you will be required to pay an entrance fee. If your reservation hasn't been answered in 72 hours please get in contact with me through my WhatsApp number

Meeting Manuel and having him take us on his tour was the absolute highlight of our trip to Cuba. His friendliness and knowledge of the local area and Cuban culture completely opened our eyes to what a wonderful country Cuba is. I highly recommend doing a tour with Manuel if you want to learn and experience the real Cuba.
