We start each day in front of the Gold Museum at 3pm. Look for the BLUE umbrella. (Reservation is required)On this free walking tour through the center of Bogotá you will get to know this interesting city, its different contrasts and the historical facts that have transformed Bogotá into what it is today. At the beginning of the tour you will learn about the Legend El dorado, the Spanish colonization and the founding of Bogotá.
We will go to the Plaza del Rosario where you will learn about the informal emerald market in Colombia. We'll walk through Carrera 7ma and you'll learn about El Bogotazo, an uprising that wreaked havoc in the city in 1948. Then, you'll visit Plaza de Bolivar, which houses important government buildings. We will walk through the neighborhood of La Candelaria, a colonial neighborhood that houses ancient architecture, here you will meet an interesting drink present since pre-Columbian times called Chicha, you will learn about the urban art of Colombia and we will have a fruit tasting at the end of the tour .
WHERE WE ARE: In front of the gold museum every day at 15:00, the color of our umbrella changed to BLUE.
TOUR COST: Based on donations. The average is 8 dollars or 30 thousand pesos per person. The tour may be bilingual (English/Spanish) depending on the people registered.
