About the tour

Welcome to Pamplona, walker! Do you feel like discovering the centennial history of my city and the current way of life of its people?

Together we will walk through the most emblematic streets of the old city, in a journey through time ... from the old Iruña to the Romanization of Pompey, the rise of the Kingdom of Pamplona, the beginnings of el Camino de Santiago and the battles between “the three Burgos ”in medieval times, the Privilege of the Union and the outer walls of the city...

Discover how el Camino de Santiago and its millions of pilgrims have transformed with their presence, for centuries, the life of our city.

Places that we will visit walk and experience:

- Pamplona Cathedral (exterior): emergence and evolution of the cathedral complex

- Plaza San José: a local jewel

- Caballo Blanco: where not everything is what it seems

- Baluarte del Redín: views de la Cuenca, with France to the north

- Portal de Francia: the entrance that is still there

- Calle del Carmen: the essence of the old city of Nabarrería

- Mercaderes Street: where the pilgrims' path and the bulls race meet

- Town Hall Square: medieval battlefield where the Fiesta 'explodes' every July 6th

- San Saturnino Church: religious center and military fortress

- High Street: the longest until the 16th century

- Plaza del Castillo: the heart of the city

What's the price?

A guruwalk is a pay-what-you want walking tour, which means, it's completely free to book and join the group, but the 'guru' expects to be rewarded once the tour ends. Some people give 5, some people give 50, you choose the price.

Reservations in advance are mandatory because if the 'guru' doesn't see any bookings one day, she will not show up at the meeting point. Or if she has too many 'walkers' that day, won't allow you to join without the reservation. Booking is completely free, fast and easy. Book your guruwalk now!

A brilliant tour and our knowledgeable guide Maijo walked us through the city explaining the significance and history of the buildings. She left us with tips to continue around the city plus great tips where to eat/ drink for the rest of our visit. Maijo told us it was the first free walking tour the company had done and well we wouldn’t have known, having done many of these types of tours in Europe it was awesome. Thanks Maijo for a great morning.
