On our Medina Azahara Free Tour you will understand why its founder, the Cordovan Umayyad Caliph Abderramán III, gave it the name "The Brilliant City" .
The archaeological site was ordered to be built in the year 936 as a royal residence and seat of the government of Al-Andalus. Currently , it is considered world heritage and one of the most relevant and representative monuments in the history of medieval Europe .
On this guided tour of Medina Azahara we will walk through the streets that once housed the old Arab civil and military administration.
We will also travel back in time to get lost among its ruins, corridors, guardian and servant rooms, mosques, towers and royal halls, the pool and the great portico, and imagine what life was like in that majestic palace.
You will also get to know the Medina Azahara Interpretation Center.

👀 HOW TO GET TO MEDINA AZAHARA 👀
In order to get to our meeting point, located outside the Medina Azahara Visitor Center, between the main door and the shuttle stop, you can take several options:
1. By private car. You can access the parking lot of the Visitor Center, where our meeting point is located. Remember that you will not be able to go up to the site by private car. It is mandatory to take the shuttle.

👀Reservations for more than 6 adults 👀
Group reservations of more than 6 adults have to pay €8 per adult.
The maximum allowed is 3 children for each adult.
If your group is more than 6 adults and you have made several separate reservations under different names, but all for the same group, you must pay €8 per adult.
If not, we will not be able to accept you on the tour and the guide may ask you to leave the tour.

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
