Free walking tour of the Beautiful Palaces of Bucharest

Duration: 2h and 30min
Languages: English, Spanish

I am a licenced tourism guide living in Bucharest, with a deep love for my beautiful city and its stories. I like sharing these stories, and I like to see how happy people are, when they discover this beautiful, complicated and interesting city. My passions include traveling, reading, painting, and talking about every single thing in the known Universe. I studied Biology and I have a master degree in Neuroscience, but my greatest joy was to travel, so I took all possible classes of tourism for a couple of years, in which I took all licences required. At the end of these classes, it was clear for me that this is what I want to do: travel, share my passion, talking about my beautiful city with all the people that want to see and get to know it. Bucharest is gorgeous for many reasons: - it has an interesting, complicated and fascinating history - it has many architectural styles, that can remind you of Paris, Vienna or Moscow - it has amazing arts museums, palaces and parks - its night life is quite thrilling - it`s cheaper than most other European capitals. I love to talk about all of these aspects, to share the stories of the beutiful buildings, and to enjoy a nice walk with people from all over the world.

Tour description

Bucharest, once known as "Little Paris”, has plenty of palaces to be proud of. From the Royal Palace to the Government Palace, these sumptuous constructions have been built in almost all architectural styles of the last 200 years. In our way, we will see a lot more than just palaces: churches of different rites, beautiful mansions of important people in Romanian history, small parks that appeared in a very interesting way, and many architectural gems to enjoy.

I invite you to one of the most beautiful guided tours through Bucharest, held by me, a licensed tourism guide, in love with this beautiful city and its history and culture. As a bonus, I will show you the interiors of the buildings we will see in books and printed photographies.

We've enjoyed the walk very much despite the challenging weather. Daniela is a great guide, she is well versed in the history of Bucharest and its architecture, has great materials prepared with photographs of the interiors of buildings we are unable to see inside. She is also a very nice person, easy to talk to and sympathetic - she even lent us her umbrella (a live saver for early spring which we haven't brought). We would definitely recommend a walk with Daniela! Cool guru indeed :)

The tour was amazing. We really enjoyed to had this super guide. She had a bigbig knowledge, was able to answering everything! She was kind and a happy person what I really appreciate! She was showing a lot of motivation for what she was doing. For me a lil bit to much iformation in this tree hours. Was nearl tired of listening in the end and not really able to get all the Would recomand the tour to others!

Daniela is an extremely skilled and personable guide, and clearly has an encyclopaedic understanding of the history, architecture, life stories and restoration process of Bucharest's iconic buildings and forgotten mansions alike. She's evidently done a great deal of personal and on-the-ground research in order to put this tour together, and it's as much a labour of love as it is a glimpse under the skin of this complicated city. We would recommend this tour to anyone with a real interest in understanding Bucharest and why it looks and feels the way it does today. 11 out of 10.

Excellent tour i had today! Daniella is the sweetest and most passionate guide i've met so far. She generously disclosed the most interesting stories behind each palace which made the tour super informative: i learned lots of historical, artistic and architectural facts. Because of Daniella's passion and accuracy in describing things, i felt i was taken back in time and this made me discover and enjoy each epoque, each artist life, each event pretty much. In summary, she unveiled all the richness and hidden gems of bucharest. I would highly recommend her because apart from the info you get, you also feel as if you've known her since long time ago :)
