Hello everyone! We are Namie and Kuniko, two Japanese women who do free tours as a team.
Discover traditions and antiques of Tokyo! The Fukagawa neighborhood is not very touristy and hardly appears in the guide books, but very beautiful and interesting. First I will accompany you to the Fukagawa-fudou temple where we can participate in a ceremony in which the monks pray with fire and drums. You can see in this video how Buddhist Mass is. https://youtu.be/lAjQiD-q0E0 Then we will take a walk through the Kiyosumi garden. Although it is one of the five traditional and main gardens of downtown Tokyo, it is a little known place so you can enjoy nature with tranquility. Admission costs 120 yen. We will also visit the Fukagawa-Edo Cheese. It's called a museum, but it's like a theme park where it has many real-sized houses from the ancient era. It is allowed not only to enter the houses but also to touch all the exhibits. The ticket price is 400 yen. 【Summary and Itinerary】 8: 30h meeting at Monzen-Nakacho station (exit 5) 9: 00h ceremony at the Fukagawa-fudou temple (lasts 30 minutes) = 20 minutes on foot = 10: 00h the Kiyosumi-teien garden ( 120 yen / person) = 5 minutes on foot = 11: 00h the Fukagawa-Edo Museum (400 yen / person) 12: 00h farewell at Kiyosumi-Sirakawa station * I accept only 4 people for each session. * You have to book at least one week in advance.
