Malaga Christmas Lights Free Walking Tour
We are a young team that left Spain in 2009 and we are in London to create this beautiful project. At the request of our "walkers" we grew up in Paris, Dublin, Berlin, Malaga, Cordoba and Budapest, teaching these cities to thousands of Spanish speakers. We are professional guides and we are madly in love with every corner of the cities we teach.
Tour description
In the company of our guide in Spanish, we will depart from Plaza de la Merced to explore the most attractive and popular corners of the center of Malaga. We will enter Alcazabilla Street, where we will know the origins of Christmas in the Roman Saturnalia and Christmas balls. We will visit the magnificent Cathedral of Malaga, and discover why the traditional nativity scene, or how the lights began to create the magic of this holiday. We will also know the meaning of the Christmas tree and the adorable figure of Santa Claus. As a key point during our tour, we will continue to the prestigious Calle Larios, which shines with its own light every year thanks to its light and sound show that attracts thousands of visitors. We assure you that you will not be able to look away, it is impressive! After this moment of admiration, we will advance a few meters to bump into the huge Christmas tree of Plaza de la Marina. From here, we will make our way to a host of stalls that runs along the Paseo del Parque, where we find decorative items, typical sweets and handmade Christmas products to savor the purest Christmas essence. Finally, we will reach Muelle Uno, a wonderful setting composed of its Christmas market, as well as a fascinating perspective on Malaga. And to savor the most traditional Christmas, we will enjoy a tasting of garrapiñadas, nougat, mantecados in Tienda Sabor a España, along with the typical drinks of the time. In addition, the little ones will have treats and the opportunity to leave their letter to the Magi in our special mailbox.
