Hi! My name is Can. I'm Turkish and 100% addicted to Turkish street food... My friends say that instead of blood I have Turkish tea flowing through my veins! My passion for my lovely city Istanbul is so big, so I feel that I have to share it with you... I've been doing this by giving Food Tours and creating weekly videos about Istanbul on my YouTube Channel. I'm also working as a consultant at the International Office of Özyeğin University in Istanbul. I've helped numerous International, Erasmus/Exchange students for whatever problem they have. Besides that, I organize various activities and events for incoming Erasmus/ Exchange students who are willing to get to know Istanbul, amazing food, and Turkish culture Welcome to Istanbul! Gorusmek Uzere!
In this tour, you are going to explore authentic Turkısh street foods that locals love, but which most of the tourists don't know. You are going try a bunch of foods and learn about them from a local insider's view.
We will go to hidden places only known by a local :). The tour will be in Kadıköy, which is the area that is less explored by visitors, but a hub of local activity with some of the best food in the city.
This is a tip based free food tour, which means that you only pay for what you eat. If you eat all the foods on my list, it will cost around 70Lira = 13 Euro. I'll suggest you the amount that you should eat considering the rest of the tour, but you can decide how much to eat. If there is any item in the list that you don't want to try, it can be changed with other street food options (There are too many!). So, everything in the tour can be customized as you like. Just let me know about it before the tour.
Since the tour is entirely based on tips, you’re the one who decides, once the tour is over, to give what you consider appropriate.
I don't receive any kind of subsidies for the creation, organization or study of such tour, so your support is very important for me to keep organizing tours and make a living out of it.

What you should bring?
Having some coins is always convenient to pay when you want to divide the price to share the food with other people on the tour.
I'll be waiting for you in front of Emrah Büfe that has a red bilboard which is close to the Kadıköy Pier
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
