I was in Hanoi with my husband and used couchsurfing to connect with some local. Viet connected me with Hanh, a very inspirational and hard-working woman who was excited to meet us. It was our fourth and last day in Hanoi, by then we had almost covered all points of tourist interest, so we focused on having conversation with Hanh, befriending her and knowing more about Vietnamese culture and way of living.

Near the lakeside we spent many meaningful hours with her and she answered all our queries about the country. We were not seeking a tour guide but a friend, and we got that in Hanh. In return we offered to help her with her English and we are now connected on social media!

Please go on this tour if you are interested in hanging around with a true local and know the world through a local's point of view.

Our Tour led by Mai & Tuyen was a great experience, got to know quite a lot about the old quarter and history of Vietnam. Definitely recommend it.

The tour was a disappointment. The guides did not know basic history about Vietnam or the city and did not seem to have an agenda for the tour.
