Hi, everyone. My name is Ivan and I’m a travel writer based in Paris. I just moved and having few friends here decided to organize free « randonnées littéraires »(starting at Orwell’s, 10, Rue du Pot du Fer), philosophical tours(guided by my girlfriend, Anna-Lisa specialist on Deleuze), and a French Revolution tour (massacres, sex & Revolution et guillotines).
This tour is created specially for 1917 Revolution buffs. It will take you from Gangutskaya Street, one of the areas where Russian counter-revolution was burgeoning after the October coup, to the areas closer to Kolomna district, in the part where some of the city's main institutions to be taken over by the Bolsheviks were located. I, Ivan, can share not only my knowledge on where and what happened during the first stages of the October and February Revolution, but also can give you list of what to read to deepen your insight into the events; and if tired of the past, can try to make your future more fun and enjoyable by showing you to the bar areas of the city, with throngs of youngsters who are always pleased to share their take on the current Russian affairs. Thus we could make a comparison between now and then, approaching both past in its physical dimensions of historical-revolutionary sites and the people of Russia who also represent its reflection and that of its future.

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
