Two centuries later, attracted by this wild beauty, the first king of Romania, Carol I, decided to build his summer residence here, Peles Castle . Since then, in a short time the place became the favorite place of the Elite, and the small town was filled with luxurious houses, hotels, restaurants, shops and a Casino . At the end of the 19th century, Sinaia already had the nickname “The summer capital of Romania” or “Little Versailles”.
