My name is Pieter Zhao and I am a History student at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. More importantly, I am born and raised in Rotterdam and have a big passion for the city. Because of my passion for both History and the city, I love to show people around in my hometown and explain to them what is so special about this often over-looked city in the Netherlands. Join me on one of my tours and I will tell you all about it!
The best way to explore the diverse and modern city of Rotterdam. During this tour, I will show you around my hometown by looking at its unique history, culture, and architecture. As you can see in the title, this tour gives a general overview of almost all of the important highlights of the city, while also providing you with personal and local stories, insights, and recommendations so that you can experience the city through a local perspective.
We will walk in a big circle (about 4km) through the city center and end around the same spot where we started.
Some of the sights we will visit:
- Laurenskerk (Laurens Church)
- City Hall
- Central Train Station
- The Destructed City (Zadkine)
- Markthal
- Cube Houses

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
