About the guru Paseando Por Europa

We are a young team that left Spain in 2009 and we are in London to create this beautiful project. At the request of our "walkers" we grew up in Paris, Dublin, Berlin, Malaga, Cordoba and Budapest, teaching these cities to thousands of Spanish speakers. We are professional guides and we are madly in love with every corner of the cities we teach.

About the tour

Do you want to visit the true jewel of Córdoba? In our Free Tour Medina Azahara you will understand why its founder, the Umayyad Caliph from Cordoba Abderramán III, gave it the name of "The Shining City". The archaeological site was ordered to be built in 936 as a royal residence and seat of the Al-Andalus government. Currently, it is considered world heritage and one of the most relevant and representative monuments in the history of medieval Europe. The palatine city is located 8 kilometers from Córdoba, on the slopes of Sierra Morena. For centuries, it was completely abandoned, until the end of the 19th century, when the city was unearthed and exalted for being a completely descriptive space for Islamic art. Since then, it has not undergone any modification. Within its walls it housed great riches, such as mercury pools, gold roofs and ataurique decorations; what made it the land chosen by philosophers, caliphs, soldiers and princes of the time. On this guided visit to Medina Azahara we will walk through the streets that once welcomed the old Arab civil and military administration. We will also travel back in time to get lost among its ruins, corridors, rooms of guardians and servants, mosques, towers and royal halls, the pool and the great portico, and imagine what life was like in that majestic palace. In addition, on our tour with a guide in Spanish, we will be able to visit the Medina Azahara Interpretation Center, which in 2012 was named "European Museum of the Year", a very ambitious and representative architectural work composed of exhibition rooms, didactics, auditorium, library and much more. plus. *** Reservations for more than 6 adults *** Group reservations of more than 6 adults will not be accepted. The maximum allowed is 3 children for each adult. If your group is more than 6 adults and you have made several separate reservations under different names, we will not be able to accept you on the tour and the guide may ask you to leave it.
