"Goethe lost his heart in Heidelberg.” One of the symbols of Heidelberg is the beauty of the imperfection of decaying hilltop castles. Heidelberg's scenic spots are divided into three parts: Königstuhl; The old city and bridge; Philosophenweg. You can choose to eat at University student restaurant or the Michelin Restaurant zur Herrenmühle at Hauptstr. 239. For 2 hours tour, you may choose any 2 or 3 places listed. For instance, from Marktplatz to old bridge, don’t forget to touch monkey’s right hand. In history, it is quite popular with professors, scholars and philosophers. They often wander here to capture the inspiration of ideas. A good place to overlook the old city of Heidelberg across the bank. There’re monuments to the poets Friedrich Hölderlin and Joseph von Eichendorff. To the west of the trail is the Institute of physics of University of Heidelberg. You can follow the mountain road and walk all the way to the top of the mountain. There is only one seasonal kiosk on the philosopher's path. 6, Königstuhl, King's palace. The castle was built in the 13th century. It was struck by lightning twice in 1537 and 1764. It was seriously damaged in the thirty years war and the great alliance war, and gradually formed its present pattern. Today, the biggest attraction in the castle is the world's largest cask (grosses Fass). There is a red triumphal arch in the courtyard of the palace. It was built overnight, a gift given by Friedrich V to his wife on her 20th birthday in 1615. 7, University of Heidelberg, Founded in 1386, it is the first university in Germany and the third oldest university in Europe, With 30000 registered students. At the University square, One is the old university (ALTE Universit è T), which was built in the early 18th century, and the other is the new one (Neue Universit è T) built in the early 20th century. 8, Student prison, For more than 100 years, the walls, tables and chairs, and even the floor were covered with graffiti. Around the prison, you can see an old auditorium decorated with classical decoration, which is together with the prison ticket. It doesn't open on Monday. 9, Kornmarkt, this quiet little square is an ancient grain exchange. It is located at the east end of main street. It is the starting point to go to the castle.
