Arkeo Tour was born from an idea of a group of youngs from Andalusia and Madrid who loved its History, culture and heritage. Our team is made up of great professionals with extensive experience in managing of tourist groups and cultural visits in different parts of Spain. Most of us have trained on the street, collaborating in different archaeological sites, art galleries and museums. We consider that our land has great heritage and cultural potential that must be valued for both residents and tourists. We do not believe that transmitting our history is bored. We want you to enjoy it. May you live the experience. And that you impregnate yourself with the vestiges of our past. Join this adventure with us!
Do not miss this fantastic tour of San Cristóbal de la Laguna, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, precisely because it is a unique example of an unwalled colonial city. Did you know that it was the capital of the Canary Islands until 1883, when Santa Cruz de Tenerife became the capital? Come and discover its wonderful old town, which preserves its original layout practically intact. We will lose ourselves in its narrow streets to discover the most representative buildings of the 15th century colonial architecture. We will walk through its squares and explore its patios and colorful palaces. We will begin our tour in the Plaza del Adelantado, the most important in the city. There were located the house of the Adelantado and the houses of the town hall; and in its surroundings, those of the most outstanding people. Here we will see the Town Hall building, the old Cabildo of the island of Tenerife, the Convent of Santa Catalina, the Palacio de Nava y Grimón, the old Hermitage of San Miguel or the Anchieta house. As a curiosity I tell you that San Cristóbal de la Laguna was taken as a model for the construction of some American cities such as Havana, Lima or Cartagena de Indias. In addition, you will discover very interesting information about its natural parks and its mountains covered by the endemic flora of the Canary Islands. Did you know that it is part of the protected natural area of the Anaga Rural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO? YOU HAVE NO EXCUSES NOT TO COME
Only groups of up to 6 people are allowed in this activity. If you are 7 or more people, you will be asked for a payment per person in advance to join the visit.
We will wait for you next to the central fountain of the Plaza del Adelantado
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
