Trip to Penyal d’Ifac Penyal d’Ifac, symbol of the city, is the main theme you can see in the most beautiful postcards. It was declared Natural Park in 1987. This limestone monolith called Penyal d’Ifac has become the main symbol of the city over the years and it is one of the most beautiful and visited places of the eastern coast. Dominating Calp, this rocky hill has been for centuries a strong attraction for human beings and other civilisations that have been living here. It is 330 meters high and is linked to the coast by a little spit of land. It creates a unique landscape and is one of the most photographed sites of this part of the Mediterranean Sea. In the Natural Park of Penyal d’Ifac, there are a large number of flora and fauna species. During the seagull breeding season, the image of these birds flying over the rock is amazing. One of the most well-known activities in Calp is the trips to the Penyal d’Ifac. It is the perfect place for hiking and climbing. We can divide it in two parts: the first part is easy to access and the second part becomes more complicated from the tunnel. The entrance to the park is just on the foot of the hill in a small parking where you can park your car in case you have one. The ascent is amazing, walking by viewpoints and archaeological remains of an ancient military fortress. For those who are fitter and want to climb to the top, there are extraordinary views of the coast that are a real pleasure for the senses. This trip usually takes two hours and 2 km by walk although it has drops of 291 meters. We recommend you to wear comfortable shoes, and if you think about climbing the second part, we suggest wearing mountain boots, drink, a cap and sun cream. Come and join us, and you will discover from the very first hand all of the beauties of the Penyal d’Ifac! Duration: 2h Recommendations: Water, trainers, sun cream, a cap and especially a camera How much? The amount given to the guides is completely open. Each traveler is free to decide at the end of the tour how much they want to contribute, depending on how much they liked it, and their economic possibilities.
