I have been an official guide of the Canary Islands since 2011, with a lot of interest about our history of the Canary Islands and specifically our island Gran Canaria. The ancient city known as Vegueta and Triana is my specialty so don't wait any longer, come and to see it.
At first glance, we can see that Triana is a commercial district, full of people, bars and shops, but have you ever wondered what its origins were? Was Triana once a middle-class neighborhood? How did this emblematic corner of Las Palmas de GC come to become what it is now? If, like me, you are curious and are asked all these questions, do not hesitate and come with me to discover this ancient fishing district! We will go back to the beginning of its history, the sixteenth century. We will walk its streets and we will know its evolution until we are in the present. We will meet in the San Telmo Park, near the tourist information point; We will stroll through Calle Mayor de Triana, with its mainly modernist buildings; We will see the tracks of one of the city trams (today there are no more); we will pass by the house of Don Benito Pérez Galdós; Plaza Cairasco ... Also, I will recommend bars, places to eat tapas, shops and free activities organized in the area. Don't hesitate and come and enjoy this wonderful neighborhood with the help of an official guide. Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
