I am the owner and founder of Gio's Cuba Photo Tours and a resident of Trinidad since 2001. I have been a local guide since 2012, focusing on history and life in Trinidad. I know every inch of my beautiful city, and I would love to share it with you. As a local history buff, I am in a unique position to take tours of the city of Trinidad. My goal is for you to leave with a better understanding of what it means to be Cuban.
This Experience is designed for lovers of Street Photography.
However, it is not a Photography Workshop, in fact, it is a tour to capture with our lens the authentic Cuba, the one without makeup. Therefore, most of the tour will be off the beaten path, away from the tourist area.
Itinerary: We will begin our photographic tour at the meeting point, the Plazuela del Jigüe. From there we will go down Boca street to see the locals in their daily bustle, in line to buy bread or milk or other supplies.
During the week we will also see the children going to school, in the case of the morning tour, and returning home in the case of the afternoon tour. We will also include in the tour the old railway station, where you will see part of the infrastructure and machinery, part of which is more than 100 years old, in fact, the old train station is currently in disuse.
As I am a local and by nature I have a very sociable personality you will have the opportunity to take very good close-up photos of my friends and acquaintances while greeting them.
From the old railway station we will head towards Armando Mestre, an urbanization of Russian-style buildings where we will see many people busy with their daily tasks. From there we will return to the city center to end our tour in Céspedes Park.
I will be right at the portal of my house, which is the meeting point. My neighbors call me Choli. My address appears on Google Maps as Gio's Cuba Photo Tours.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
This guru has 50 reviews in other tours.
