Hello, I am Aileen a tour-guiding working in the heart of this famous city for over 6 years ! I am a Brit by birth, have spent 8 years living in the USA, and now married to a Munich local. I am new to Guruwalk but have worked for all the top tour companies in Munich and I am looking forward to showing you around !

We start off in Marienplatz and take in the town halls and the Glockenspiel. After explaining the origins of Munich, we head to the beautiful Viktualienmarkt. A chance to see what fuels the cities inhabitants and time to talk about the unique food, beer and Biergarten culture.
Walking past the grand buildings of the 19th century (Residenz, Max Joseph Platz, Odeonsplatz) we see what inspired the kings of Bavaria, and naturally we touch on the darker history of Munich during the Third Reich.
I also want to give you some perspective on modern Munich, and plenty of recommendations for things to see and do after the tour!
Look out for my colourful umbrella, i will be standing next to the Mary’s Column ( Mariensaule) on Marienplatz. We start the tour exactly on time.
I will on the corner of Liebfrauenstr and Urban Outfitters on the Kaufingerstr 24, 80331, München, I will be holding a multicolored umbrella. Please arrive 5 minutes before the tour start time. Late comers may find locating the tour difficult, and miss out.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
