Royals, Rogues and Rebels of Westminster- Free Walking Tour

Duration: 2h and 30min
Languages: English
Registered on November 17, 2021

Hi, I'm Ellie! I'm an Art Historian and have been a professional tour guide in London for 7 years. I grew up in the south of Spain, but after falling in love with London and its history, I'm very much at home here. I have a passion for radical history and stories that are sometimes left out of the history books, and that led me to create, alongside my friend and colleague Charlie, Rebel Tours, an alternative way of experiencing London!

Tour description

Do London differently and experience a radical Westminster!

On your walk through the City Of Westminster, the centre of political power in the UK, your rebel guide will introduce you to the radicals and their movements that shaped London’s rebellious history. And of course, it wouldn’t be Westminster without a few roguish royals!
See London's most famous sights and monuments but learn some of the stories that often get left out, have been silenced or forgotten. The real royals, rogues and rebels of London’s political centre, whose actions still influence how we do things and help us understand how this incredible city works today!

  • Meet your guide at Hyde Park Corner by the Wellington Arch and hear about what's going on across the channel in 1789...
  • Royal assassination attempts at Constitution Hill.
  • Empire, Slavery and Abolition at Buckingham Palace.
  • Rambling Rogues in St James' Park.
  • Rebels then and now in Parliament Square - Chartists and Suffragettes
  • A near miss at Downing Street
  • Walk up Whitehall to learn of England's only republic and what happens when a monarch goes too far.
  • Art and protest in Trafalgar Square, where your tour will end.

Come and join us if you want a taste of the real London!
