Communism Free Tour in Bucharest

Gabi was a great guide with lits of personal information and stories relating to the communist period. It was really interesting to see some of the key locations up close and she even had time for a short break in the middle for coffee/bathroom. I highly recommend this tour if you're interested in the communist history. I was the only person on the tour so it was basically a private tour. At first I was confused because the Spanish tour at the same time was so busy! Turns out the English ones aren't very well promoted on social media so here I am spreading the word! Definitely book one if you can!

I was the only person signed up but Alberto still turned up and I had an absolutely outstanding time. He was so informative and was always eager for my questions. I learnt so much more than I expected. Alberto was so friendly, knowledgeable and with such excellent English. We stopped for a break in a lovely cafe where he told me all about censorship during the communist era. I have done a lot of tours in a lot of places but this was definitely top of my list.

Bogdan was an excellent guide. The tour lasted almost 3 hours, during which we received a wealth of interesting information about the period of communism in Romania. In addition, he was willing to answer all our questions, including topics beyond communism. The time literally flew by, and I highly recommend this tour.

Tudor packed the tour with the history and stories of the Communist era in a very engaging manner: its reign of fear, its rollercoaster of largesse and deprivation, and ultimately the courage of people to rise up. Tudor’s passion is based on his own family’s experiences that make the whole thing real.
