Tour description
We begin our tour from the Suleymaniye Mosque and our journey to understand Islam and Muslim practices. After visiting the largest historical mosque in Turkey, we will learn about the basics of the Islamic creed and its effects on the life of 1,5 billion Muslims and grab some free literature on Islam including a free Quran translation in many different languages. Then we continue our tour visiting the following places all in a row:
- Ebul Vefa Mosque and the Tomb
- Atıf Efendi Library (Outside)
- A contemporary foundation-BISAV
- Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture-Headquarters
- A sufi tomb - Mehmet Emin Tokadi
- Zeyrek Mosque (Formerly a church)
- Fatih Mosque and the Complex
In Fatih Mosque, we will learn about the pillars of Islam and that will be the end of the tour.

This was a wonderful and educational walking tour that I enjoyed immensely. The guide was so knowledgeable and earnest in his explanations. Not only was he very professional in the tour but also very personal and friendly in sharing about his neighborhood and culture. He also provided me with many great local tips (food&markets) in addition to his excellent presentations about the history, architecture & Islamic practices and culture. I would highly recommend this fascinating tour!

Onder did the tour just for two of us. It was obvious he was very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. We learned a lot about the basics of Islamic religion and also the history of Fatih. I can 100 % recommend him if you are looking for a your apart from the usual mold of Hagia Sophia and Co.

This is the perfect tour to know more about Islam and how people in Istanbul practice it. Onder answered all our questions very patiently and provided a lot of interesting information.
