Hi, I'm Chris and I live in Kassel since last year. Since then I am very interested in Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe and the history of the city. For this reason, I would like to share my knowledge with you. Apart from that I like to get to know new cultures, I like traveling and I am especially interested in people, cities and their geographical development.
Would you like to explore the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in an interesting hike starting from Hercules - Kassel's landmark ?
Then you are exactly right here!
In this tour we dive into the creation of the UNESCO World Heritage "Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe" by learning the background to the park, admiring the impressive monuments and enjoying the view over Kassel. In the guided tour, in addition to the history and origins of the park , I will also tell you something about the initiator of the park (Landgrave Karl) and his successors.
We will look at the following stations on an exciting path downwards:
The trail and attractions can be customized to suit individual needs. The meeting point is directly in front of the Herkules visitor center (Herkules bus station, Kassel).
The meeting point at the Herkules is relatively easy to reach from the Wilhelmshöhe train station. Every 30 minutes you can take tram 4 to Druseltal, where you can change to bus 22, which stops right at the meeting point in front of the visitor center (Herkules bus station, Kassel). The journey takes about 30 minutes.
The hike is planned as a descent and leads from the "Herkules, Kassel" station to the "Wilhelmshöhe (Park)" train station. In total, this is around 3.5 km with around 300 meters in altitude (downhill) , which is why average fitness is required. The tour lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours.
The tour is available in both German and English.
Please wait for a confirmation from me before a tour.
