I am a sociologist and an art lover, I like to discover new cultures, street art, local food, the most magical places in big cities. Do you want to know the true spirit of Marseille? Some call it "the Naples of France" for the sea, its vitality, its history, the energy of the people and its steep and intricate alleys, the shops and popular markets in the centre.
Famous port since Greek times, Marseille has seen people from different parts of the world pass through its streets over the centuries: Italians, Armenians, Algerians, Comorians are among the communities still most present today, with their traditions and their food !
Its incredible history is still visible, ready to be told, among the white medieval monuments, the French-style buildings, the ancient popular neighborhoods with a thousand colors and scents. In addition to the art and history of the city, we will discover together its most curious and hidden sides, street art, social facets, street food, many curiosities and much more.
I thought of this tour as a cultural but at the same time "sociological" visit. In fact, I will take you to discover, right next to the most central districts, one or two of the multicultural districts of the city , where the character of the port of Marseille is best expressed.
