I was born and raised in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Over the course of over 40 years, I have experienced the many changes which have occurred in my country. I grew up in Yugoslavia. I came of age during its violent dissolution during the wars of the 1990s and fought for my country. I have witnessed and felt the changes that followed the country's early years of independence. One thing that has not changed is my love for Mostar - the people, place, and culture. I channeled this love, knowledge, and experience into the development of Sheva Walking Tours. Our tours are immersive and engaging, with the goal of not just presenting our past, but explaining the present from a local perspective and with the hope of dispelling the misconceptions associated with Mostar and the greater Balkan region. Sheva Walking Tours is a small but growing team of passionate guides who are looking forward to sharing our hometown - past and present - with you. Please Note:
This tour is a great option for families traveling with small children. The tour includes all of the essential stops for your visit to Mostar and provides a wonderful background to understand the history of the city; however, it is short enough to accommodate the needs and attention spans of younger and first time travelers!
Free Tours require a minimum number of walkers to operate. If that minimum is not met, a tour may be cancelled; however, we will always have a representative of Sheva Walking Tours to meet you at the meeting spot if you have made a booking.
In the event of heavy rain or other adverse weather conditions, we reserve the right to cancel a tour. This is due to safety concerns. The cobblestones are very slippery and we do not want our guests to injure themselves.
We require a valid phone number upon booking in order to verify your reservation. This helps to prevent fraudulent bookings. Your phone number will only be used for this internal purpose. Providing a fake phone number will result in the cancellation of your booking!
If you are uncertain of the exact day of your visit to Mostar, please only make one reservation rather than booking multiple tours over multiple days. In the event that your arrival to Mostar changes at the last minute, attempt to cancel and rebook or contact us through the Guruwalk messaging system.
Your guide will meet in the public space in front of the Hamam Museum in Old Town, Mostar! Please check our tour pictures for images of the meeting point. Your guide will be wearing a Sheva Walking Tours t-shirt and/or wear a badge with our logo.
Our meeting point is also our first stop along our pathway through Mostar's Old Town and UNESCO World Heritage zone! The Hamam is an ideal location, centrally located and easy to find, from which to launch our exploration of Mostar's earliest development.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
