Ey! I am Walter, creator of Obsidiana Tours and I am a Tapatío; yes, like the salsa you're thinking about. We are a group of local guides born and raised in Guadalajara; passionate about food, history, art, architecture, and the culture of this beautiful city, home of mariachi and tequila.
Ey! Join me on this free 2h tour around Guadalajara’s downtown, the capital of Mariachi, land of Tequila and a lot more!
On this free walking, we’ll do a deep dive into the most representative and picturesque landmarks of Guadalajara, its hidden corners and secret stories; then you will understand why it is considered by many to own “The most Mexican soul”.
Our tour starts right in front of the “Rotonda de los Jaliscienses Ilustres” monument.
Afterward, we’ll get inside the city Cathedral to uncover their crypts and beauty, so we can really start our journey through downtown, explore its colonial streets and get inside the biggest market in the city. Then we will arrive to the cultural patrimony of the world Hospicio Cabañas and also walk through the “Devil's Alley”, so, be prepared!
To finish the tour, we'll arrive exactly at sunset to Plaza de la Liberación for one of the best sights of the city.
As a resident of the downtown for many years, I know the neighborhood like the back of my hand. I'll give you the best recommendations about where to eat, drink and have a fun night out, avoiding tourist traps and discovering the true local spots that will make the experience nothing but memorable!
You’ll learn about history, architecture, and food, plus many fun facts and interesting anecdotes! Also, you will have a chance to try authentic tequila ice cream!
