Mdina free walking tour
Hi, my name is Ben. I previously used to work in IT, but now I'm a full-time Tourist Guide! I'm a licensed professional tourist guide and I have guided thousands of people all around Malta. I'm also 100% Maltese, born & raised here. I love meeting new people and showing them around my country of Malta. I usually adapt to the audience, but I usually intersperse history, current Maltese culture, and what the Maltese people think & feel, together with recommendations for places to eat & drink (usually my favourite spots ;) ).
Tour description
We will walk through the Baroque entrance of Mdina, and see the following must-see spots (from the outside):
- Vilhena palace
- Tower of the Standard
- Castellania (old Law courts)
- Herald's Lodge
- Universita (old administrative building)
- The Cathedral!
- The Archbishop's Palace
- The Seminary (now Cathedral Museum)
- Palazzo Falson
- One of the most scenic views of Malta!
- The Old Greek Bordello
- The Old Jewish Silk Market
- The Magazines
- The Church of St Nicholas
- Greek's Gate
Mdina is a must-see in Malta. I would say Valletta is #1 with Mdina being #2.
It's the city of the “old powers” of Malta. In this case, the Nobility and the Church of Malta. They are both still residing in Mdina, and add to its charm and character.

Please meet me just outside Mdina's gate. Right next to a map of Mdina, as you're facing the Mdina walls and ditch in front of you.
