Hi 👋 I'm Juan, Cali local, born and raised here. Tourism is: something I love to do, something I am good at, and something I can make a job out of. That's why I have found a vocation in it. My tours keep growing, expanding, innovating, always a project-under-construction. They're never finished as I keep improving them with the experience every traveller brings. I speak superb english, native spanish, fluent portuguese, and some french. Thanks for considering me to show you my hometown. Welcome to Cali!
Most of the times you get a coffee in Colombia it's not even colombian, specially if you're not in the coffee region.
So how do I get a real colombian coffee in Cali? You have to know where to find it!
Let's take your nose and taste buds on a journey through the flavor and aromas of a real colombian coffee cup from south Colombia.
Just as ourselves, every cup of coffee is different and unique. From the crop to the process, everything affects the profile (flavor and aroma) of the cup. Same grains might taste different if brewed with different methods! What does a specialty coffee from the south-west of Colombia taste like?
Do I have to know about coffee to go to this tour?
No. From connoisseurs to absolute beginners, everyone can come and treat their senses with a nice cup of colombian specialty coffee.
Will we only drink black coffee?
It is recommended so you get the full tasting experience. But you can get whatever you like from the menu. There's all the international recipes, brunch options, even cold brew and some proposals with local ingredients.
Shouldn't I do this in Colombia's coffee region? Why here?
Coffee experts know that every grain is different. The ones we will taste come mostly from south of the country, the Cauca region, while the coffee axis is more upnorth: Risaralda, Quindio, Caldas.
Let's meet by the tall white with colorful objects monument.
Let's start off by checking out one of local people's favorite park.
Let's check out one of the oldest churches in Cali.
Trinitario has 3 different coffee profiles: black, golden & reserve. Which one are you trying?
With some of the best patio I know in Cali, this caffee is a gem on it's own (plus the kitchen always smells amazing!).
This place brings me nice memories because they grow coffee in the same region that my dad's family is from, a town known as the 'Coffee Capital of Colombia'.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
