Frankfurt is a fascinating city. There are contrasts here that you can rarely experience in this compactness in other cities in such a small space. It is a varied, tolerant and cosmopolitan city with everything that goes with it.
Trade fair, banks, airport and business are one side, comfort, culture and tradition are the other. In addition to a wide range of cultural activities, the city also offers popular local recreation opportunities such as the Main or the nearby city forest and the many parks within the city.

Consecrated in 1833, the church became the seat of the first German National Assembly in 1848, on whose draft today's Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany is based. Presently award ceremonies as well as political and cultural events take place there.
The 1,500 m² small market hall offers visitors a culinary paradise. Every day except Sunday, all kinds of fresh food, but also flowers, are offered at 156 market stalls. In addition to regional specialties such as the green sauce, imported foods from all over the world are also sold today. And if you get hungry, you can try many of the freshly prepared delicacies on the spot
Johann Wolfgang Goethe's parents' house is one of the most important and popular poet memorials in Germany. Johann Wolfgang Goethe was born here on August 28, 1749 'on the stroke of twelve'. He grew up here with his parents Johann Caspar and Catharina Elisabeth, together with his sister Cornelia. With its old furniture and pictures, the town house from the 18th century conveys a vivid picture of Goethe's youth.
The Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof has been located in the heart of the banking district and the historic old town, at the place where emperors were once crowned. Since then, the house has been an attractive place for guests from all over the world, each of whom is as unique as the 303 glamorous rooms. Whether in a classic style or renovated in a modern way, the luxurious and timelessly elegant interior fulfills all of the guests' wishes, no matter how demanding.
Oper Frankfurt has already been named "Opera House of the Year" several times and is making a name for itself in the international opera world with outstanding singers, great teams of directors and innovative program planning. With around thirteen premieres and fifteen revivals per season, the audience can expect a varied program with more than 300 events per season.
The 15 meter high sculpture with the yellow stars marks the beginning of the euro age on January 1st, 2001. The Euro sculpture is a work of art executed in two copies by Ottmar Hörl. The neon sign, 14 meters high and weighing 50 tons, features a monumental blue euro sign surrounded by twelve yellow stars, the colors of the European Union.
The bustling Bahnhofsviertel, named after nearby Frankfurt Central Station, is an up-and-coming area full of casual international restaurants - particularly on Kaiserstrasse and Münchener Strasse. Known as the Red Light District, the area is home to numerous hotels, bars and cool clubs that stay open late.
The plant ring stretches around 5 km in a semicircle around the old town between the lower and upper main plant. The park follows the course of the medieval city walls, which were razed and planted in the early 19th century. A green belt worth seeing was created from the former defensive wall. The walking paths are lined with babbling fountains, modern sculptures, monuments and memorials.
The Deutsche Bank twin towers, built in 1984, are 155 meters high - from afar they are a conspicuous part of Frankfurt's city skyline with a special effect due to their reflective surfaces. The draft comes from W.Hanig, H.Scheid and J.Schmidt. Both towers are not constructed as skeleton structures, but on partially adjustable stilts with double shells like nested concrete structures.
Erected and unveiled on May 9, 1864. Transferred to the Taunusanlage in May 1955, on the 150th anniversary of Schiller's death. Book and pen characterize the author of dramas ("The Robbers", "William Tell") and poems ("The Bell", "Ode to Joy"). The laurel wreath is a special honor and underlines the importance of Schiller, who significantly influenced German literature.
As a cultural landmark of the economic metropolis of Frankfurt, the Alte Oper offers a state-of-the-art event house with two halls, four salons and five foyers behind a historical facade. Whether for gala dinners, press conferences or international congresses - a tailor-made event service creates a highly stylish event atmosphere from the planning to artist and guest support to exclusive catering by the Kuffler gourmet team of the Opéra restaurant.
The Große Bockenheimer Straße and the Kalbächer Gasse branching off from it, which connect the Opernplatz with the Rathenauplatz, are popularly known as Freßgass. After the First World War, a colorful variety of grocery stores and delicatessens lined up here - and that hasn't changed much to this day. Bars, cafés and restaurants entice you to relax and feast under plane trees with lunch and happy hours.
Exclusive boutiques west of the Zeil present the current collections from the international fashion world. Fashion labels such as Chanel, Gucci and Hermès can be found here, as can the iconic jewelry brands Tiffany & Co. or Cartier. Parallel to Goethestrasse are Neue Rothofstrasse and Freßgass'.
A baroque guard building was built between 1729 and 1730 based on a design by the master builder Samhainger. It was the watch of the Frankfurt military, in which, among others, the famous robber captain Schinderhannes was imprisoned. A café has been housed in the building since 1904.
THE shopping street in Frankfurt. Since the end of the 19th century, it has been one of the best-known and best-selling shopping streets in Germany. Before that it was famous for its magnificent inns and palaces from the Baroque and Classicist periods. The western part of the street, around 500 meters long, has been a pedestrian zone since the 1970s.
In front of the stock exchange building are the bronze symbolic figures of stock market traders: bull (bull) and bear (bear). When the stock exchange celebrated its 400th anniversary in 1985, the board of directors also decided to design the forecourt and commissioned the Würzburg sculptor Reinhard Dachlauer to create the two sculptures that stand for the ups and downs in money and securities trading. Bull and bear are now among the most popular photo motifs.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
