Royal Coronation Historic Walking Tour
Darrell Rivers is a British-American historian with an incredible breadth of knowledge, particularly around London. He works as a historical advisor for TV & film and a consultant for various historical projects around the world. He specialises in the Napoleonic Wars, Crimean War, and the American Civil War. He is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Kentucky Colonel.
Tour description
Sword & Crown
A walking tour for the Coronation! We'll discuss the history of coronations and walk the route the King will take from the Palace to Westminster Abbey, seeing the important sites, soldiers, and statues along the way. Then we'll go into Westminster Abbey and see the sacred location where Kings and Queens have been anointed for more than 900 years!
BETWEEN 24 APRIL AND 7 MAY WESTMINSTER ABBEY WILL BE CLOSED FOR PREPARATIONS FOR THE CORONATION. OUR TOUR WILL STILL COVER THE ROUTE AND DISCUSS THE CORONATION OUTSIDE THE ABBEY BUT WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO INSIDE.

I will be in a suit with my umbrella standing on the steps of the Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace, facing the Palace. We'll meet by the statue of Industry, which has a man with a hammer standing next to a lion.
