Tour description

Michael Wittmann is one of the most famous Panzer commanders of the German Army of World War II. In total, it is estimated that he shot down more than 140 enemy tanks . Although he carried out very important operations on the Eastern Front, it was precisely during the Battle of Normandy when he did the action that ended up making him a legend, after defeating an entire British armored brigade practically alone, killing almost 30 vehicles. .
This Tour offered below is unique and does not exist in any other language.

Would you like to know how Michael Wittmann was able to stop an entire British armored brigade in its tracks? In this free tour we will analyze it!

We will start the Tour in the highest area of the town of Villers Bocage , next to where Michael Wittmann entered with his Tiger on the morning of June 13, 1944 . There we will explain the entire history of the German Ace, until his arrival in Normandy.

Once we have put ourselves in context, we will begin to descend through the small French town, following Wittmann's route step by step .

We will stop at each place where enemy tanks were shot down , which can still be recognized today from the photographs of the time.

As long as the town hall is open and it is not a holiday, we can enter to see the model of the battle that took place in the city on June 13.

Finally we will finish the Tour in the exact place where Wittmann's Tiger was damaged, after having shot down 27 British armored vehicles.

On this tour we will not only talk about Michael Wittmann and his action at Villers Bocage, but we will also analyze the evolution of the Battle of Normandy , and any questions the client may have will be answered.

Total Itinerary an hour and a half.
