Hi everyone! My name is Aldo, I am an official tour and environmental (trekking) guide here in Tuscany. I am based in Florence and I would love to show you my country at its best, my aim is welcoming you as a friend and making live your stay local as much as possible. I used to live abroad for 10 years (in Spain and the Uk ). I studied languages and I have been always interested in learning about different cultures than mine. I love to travel and communicate with people, I believe we are all connected to each other, and travelling makes everybody happier and smiley! I have so many hobbies and passions ...I am an enthusiastic and a people person, and I love to give good energy and memorable experiences to the visitors and friends I meet. Apart from Art ( Painting and Photography ), I am keen on fine Food and Wine. All Italians end up talking about food sooner or later, you know??... But I think you will like that!
Walk and try Aldo .
One of my favorite tours!
We will walk discovering the coolest and most popular part of the city, as the Florentines call it "Oltrarno " (on the south bank of the Arno river). This tour is different as it aims to show less touristy areas, where you can meet authentic local people and get in touch with them in traditional workshops like the painting/mosaics gallery or the goldsmith for example.
I used to live abroad for 10 years (between Spain and the UK) and I know all too well the feeling of wonder when you visit a new place for the first time.
That is why I will not be just your guide, I would like to help you have a memorable experience here in my country and show you the best of the place.
The tour will last 2:00 hours and will start from the San Frediano Gate (one of the most emblematic monuments, originating from the 14th century) and will extend past the ancient city walls, enjoying hidden gardens to Santo Spirito .
There will be the right balance between art, history, beauty and curiosities and of course we will also talk about food and wine!
As a former sommelier, I will be able to give you very useful advice on local wines and gastronomic specialties, perhaps to try or buy.
Finally, we will celebrate the day with a glass of wine (red or white) in a local Florentine wine bar "VINAINO".
The tour will end in Piazza Santo Spirito
I will be standing outside the Santa Rosa Bistrot with the meeting sign and a red shirt.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
