Hanoi is considered the political center of Vietnam with famous places like Ho Chi Minh Complex, National Assembly House, government offices, etc...
In this tour, we will help you understand better the wars in Vietnam, a small country that suffered a lot of pain from war. A country with nearly 4000 years of history.
Besides, we also provide multi-dimensional views, and different opinions so that we can discuss and understand each other better.

What will we visit on this tour?

  • Meeting point:
28A Điện Biên Phủ, Điện Biên, Ba Đình...
28A Điện Biên Phủ, Điện Biên, Ba Đình, Hà Nội, Vietnam
    View on map

Our meeting point is the Military History Museum (28A Dien Bien Phu Street, Ba Dinh, Hanoi) except on Monday and Friday.

  • 1
    Outside visit
    Vietnam Military History Museum

This is the meeting point for most of our tours except for some special occasions or holidays. This is also closed every Monday and Friday. This museum shows us everything about Vietnamese history in nearly 4000 thousand years, going through feudalism times, the war between Vietnam and France, and the Vietnam War.

  • 2
    Outside visit
    Hoa Lo Prison Relic

Besides the Vietnamese War (the war between Vietnam and the U.S.), we belonged to France for nearly 100 years (from 1858 to 1954). The Hoa Lo Prison tells us a real story about the Vietnamese prisoners, who sacrificed their whole lives to protect their motherland. From the view of local people, I would like to tell you about the truth and the dark side of the war.

  • 3
    Outside visit
    Temple Of Literature

The Temple of Literature is the first university in Vietnam, which is the base of the Vietnamese education system. This temple shows us the traditional, beauty, mindset, and lifestyle of Vietnamese people a long time ago (from the 11th century to the 16th century). NOTE: The military museum is closed every Monday and Friday so we will go to the temple instead of the museum. The tour just has only 2 stops.

How much does this tour cost?

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).

We had an amazing time today on Stella’s tour - she is so knowledgeable and it is a pleasure to have her guide us round and learn about the history of her country, including stories personal to her. Having known nothing to start, we now feel very well informed and are so pleased we took the time to learn about such important historical events during our time here in Hanoi. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

After travelling to Vietnam for 2 weeks, we really wanted to learn more about the history of the country and this was really the perfect tour. Stella was very engaging and explained to us how Vietnam became the country it is today while taking us to locations we otherwise wouldn’t think to go ourselves. Stella was a clear communicator and answered all the questions we had. We highly recommend taking this tour, 5 stars from us!

We had a very informative time with Stella. Her explanations were clear and loaded with information. Her stories also helped us understand alot more than we expected. We visited Hanoi with close to zero knowledge about what they went through and left Hanoi with a deeper understanding and appreciation towards this country and its people. 100% recommend going on a tour with Stella!
