I am a filmmaker and artist based in Paris, and have been working as a tour guide since 2020. I was drawn to France and Paris for its rich cultural history, particularly in the domains of art, literature, and cinema. I came here in 2015 for a two-year post-masters in a prestigious art school in the north of France and have since completed another master's in the History and Philosophy of Art. As well as a passion for art I'm also fascinated by the rich and diverse history of the city and love to share all the unusual and surprising historical anecdotes that I've picked up to along the way.

My partner and I very much enjoyed this walking tour. I always knew Montmartre was famed for its art scene but I had no idea just how steeped it is in the history of art. Ewan did a great job of showing us so many locations around beautiful Montmartre while relating them to the great artists who lived and worked there. As a follow-up to our trip to the Musée d'Orsay a day earlier, it was great to get this insight into a neighbourhood so connected to such great art. Thanks Ewan for escorting us through these beautiful cobbled streets while making us smile and educating us on some of the pages of history written there.

Ewan's tour through Montmartre was fantastic! I enjoyed the mixture of historical facts and fun anecdotes. His knowledge especially about art and films made it a very rich experience. The tour covered the touristic must-sees, but we also went to places I would have never found by myself and some hidden gems.

Ewan was the best guide we ever had. It felt like walking with a good friend in his neighbourhood and hearing all these stories about artists living there, the historical background, seeing main sights but also noticing small interesting details - all these invader Mosaiks :) for example. So cool. We found so many later at our time in Paris. He is extremely knowledgeable and had all answers to our questions. He speaks a clear English so that you can understand him even with a not fluent English. Also on places with crowds you could hear him clearly and he was not yelling :) I highly recommend doing this tour with him! PS. If you offer one day another tour, please let us know and we will come back to Paris! Thank you so much. We really really enjoyed it and talk long that evening about this amazing walk.

There is more to Paris than the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower and this tour is the perfect example for that!
