Discover the eclectic and artistically rich neighbourhood of Montmartre
I am a filmmaker and artist based in Paris, and have been working as a tour guide since 2020. I was drawn to France and Paris for its rich cultural history, particularly in the domains of art, literature, and cinema. I came here in 2015 for a two-year post-masters in a prestigious art school in the north of France and have since completed another master's in the History and Philosophy of Art. As well as a passion for art I'm also fascinated by the rich and diverse history of the city and love to share all the unusual and surprising historical anecdotes that I've picked up to along the way.
Welcome the mythic world Montmartre, an eclectic and historically legendary neighbourhood of Paris, a place that has always been a buzzing hive of creative activity and the dwelling place of some of the most influential artists of all time.
Over the years Montmatre has been a beacon to artists of every creed, but it also become famed for its nightlife, its cafes serving absinthe, its red light district, its 'bals' and cabaret halls, a place where 'anything goes', a place pushing the boundaries in all directions.
We will see the magnificent Sacré Coeur, and wander through the quaint streets passed:
- The Cabaret Patachou
- Through Place de Tertre
- Passing an old vineyard
- The bust of Dilada
- The 'Passe-Muraille'
- La Moulin de la Galette
- The Moulin Rouge
- Le Chat Noir
- Passed the dwelling places, of Picasso, Modigliani, Georges Braque, Suzanne Valadon, Auguste Renoir, Vincent van Gough, and many, many more.
Book a tour with me and soak up the rich artistic atmosphere and follow in the footsteps of the legends of Montmatre. You will be beguiled by the strange fascinating anecdotes from Montmatre history.
